If you ever been in a heavy ganja cypher and someone asked what if Canibus or Common had a baby? Well your answer is Jermiside Scarwell. This Cincinnati, Ohio native released his album "The Biology of Kingship" a 16 track Jazz influenced score at times reminds me of a Guru album by the production alone. Before getting into the album lemme tell you, your boy Jermiside is a Fucking self-sufficient beast. Not only did he write and produce his own shit but your boy did the graphic art work, the photography and Mixed and mastered the whole album. His drive matches the undagroundartists theme "GRIND". Now down to the nitty gritty it would be easy to put this album as your Typical Backpack rapper album of the likes of Talib, Mos Def and Common but when you scratch the surface there is now way you can put this album in one category. The songs on the album is way behind our times, yet very futuristic in a sense that many of today's commercial, BET, MTV and radio brainwashed minds won't relate to. You won't be hearing any of his songs in the clubs but what this album is filled with is called "MUSIC". An intelligent album and a very self-conscious brother who gives your mind food to digest that may take a few sittings to finish. I had to listen to the album a few times to digest how deep this brother is. On Track 9 he states how he is leagues above the average everyday rapper, believe me he wasn't lying. The album overall is more then worth the price of admission and has plenty of replay life however one downfall is at times the production gets repetitive but Jermiside lyrical content revives the tracks. The album gets 3.5 out of a possible 5. This ya boy Jice till next time stay up.
