"DL" aka "D Killa" was raised in Queens , New York . At the age of 13 DL had perfected his deejaying skills to the point that he was doing shows with the multi-platinum hip-hop group Onyx and spinning at parties. Fredro of Onyx mentored DL which took his relationship with Onyx to another level. DL maintained his focus on accomplishing goals while still deejaying at parties, but inside he had a hunger to do much more. DJ Slayer mesmerized DL with the ability to produce beats during sessions of creativity, henceforth his transformation from deejay to producer was born. DL moved to L.A in '96 with Fredo, where he auditioned for various roles and appeared on Moesha and The Steve Harvey Show. With the mind set that he could accomplish anything he set out to do DL wanted to concentrate heavily on his music career so he moved back to New York in 1998. After being exposed and constantly maintaining notoriety, he was signed as a producer to Irv Gotti/Murder Inc Records/Def Jam. He produced tracks for Ja-Rule , Mic Geronimo, Onyx, Old Dirty Bastard, The Murderers, Memphis Bleek, Little Cease, DMX, Scarface, Tah Murdah aka Cadillac Tah and Vita. DL continued to rhyme and create hooks for artists, he was inspired to challenge himself to create his own album. Seeing that new artists he worked with didn't always take their work seriously, he knew with his creativity and focus it would be another great accomplishment. As a child DL longed to perform and that opportunity came as he performed with Detroit Diamond at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida for an audience of 12,000 opening for Ludacris and Ja-Rule at Superbowl XXXV. This year his focus resulted in the development of his own recording studio where he is currently writing and producing his own album, currently he has catalogued over 20 songs. DL's unique style is straight forward and to the point. His ability to mix hardcore East Coast hip-hop style with the smooth flair of the west gives him bi-coastal appeal. His tracks are head-bopping, crowd moving and full of energy. In DL's spare time he gets on his Suzuki GSXR 750 and tosses it up for relaxation. DL just wants everyone to feel his music. It's something new with gangsta beats expressing the realness. I just want to hear people banging my joints in their whips!!!!
